I was particularly struck by its love for the arts (this small country has over 50 art galleries!) and their love of a goddess, Tanit, who continues to appear on many festivals and cultural traditions today

The blandness of the egg and crunch of the toast we made from a sliced baguette went well with the complex, strong flavors in the chunky sauce. It was a great breakfast!

One of my New Years Resolution is to cook a dish from a different country every month of 2025!
Tunisia brings us our January dish, Shakshuka. It's a little debated on which exact northern African country this dish hails from, so I picked the one I knew least about.
