Today I wrapped up my affairs in Ottawa - parliamentary office closed down and secondary residence emptied. A farewell, not necessarily a goodbye.

It’s a weird feeling to be back here without a job to return to, but I’ve really enjoyed reuniting with old colleagues and staff.

Congratulations to @donvdavies.bsky.social on being named as interim leader of the @ndp.ca.

There’s a lot of rebuilding to do in the weeks and months ahead, but I know Don has the capabilities and experience to get our party on that path.

The strange part about going out into your community after an election loss is that it feels a bit like consoling people at your own funeral.

An early morning hike up Maple Mountain clears the head wonderfully!

Now it’s time to head down and into the chaos of E-Day. Let’s do this!

With 2 weeks down and 3 weeks to go, I wanted to take a pause from a rainy day on the campaign trail to say thank you to everyone who is making this local campaign in Cowichan-Malahat-Langford a success.

I’m not at all surprised.

And it’s now official: my name will be on the ballot for our federal election here in Cowichan-Malahat-Langford.

I visited Elections Canada’s office in Langford today to hand in my papers to the Returning Officer - now it’s back to knocking on doors!

Our campaign is powered by volunteers, who have generously given their time to help win this riding.

I couldn’t do this without you; thank you!

It was a mix of Spring weather today in #Langford, and it was awesome knocking on doors with this happy crew.

The Conservatives will miss the carbon tax the most.

Now there’s no cover for them to hide from the massive corporate profits that the oil and gas sector makes every year, hoovering that straight from Canadians’ hard-earned money.

The convoy crew held the people of Ottawa hostage and tried to divide people with rage politics.
No wonder they are freaked out by Canadian solidarity and goodwill.
They promote bitterness.

I agree that Pierre Poilievre needs to get security clearance. Every Leader should. It’s sketchy that he hasn’t.

But it’s disappointing that Mark Carney apparently has time to get his security clearance but not disclose his corporate interests.
