oh back to water quality. If you got high quality stuff, like gyokuro green tea, or my personal fave: jasmine pearls. Keep your loose leaf to better water. Leave the tap water for twinnings ( which I love but its my cheap tea)

tend to steep for much longer.

If you want more flavor then you add more tea leaves, don't steep longer. Steeping longer usually leads to more caffeine after its released all the flavor it possibly can.

Electric kettles for boiling water: all good. It's more about the quality of water. Get distilled water. Tap water is fine? but distilled is better for flavor when it comes to loose leaf.
