Exactly. The only thing they can't chew through is 00 steel wool. All of the major food manufacturers I inspected kept some in stock in addition to routine pest control measures. Just tear off a bit of 00 steel wool and put it in cracks before repair. They'll move to another spot. 🙂

You could have more impact by calling the local food bank and asking what items they need most. Some drop off locations will have a list of what's needed. Of course, always include things like cake mixes or dessert mixes. It'll make people happy. 😊

I worked for the USDA, FSIS for over 20 yrs. I've seen plenty of examples why food regulations are critical. I've also seen the burden it puts on the small business owner. Much of the responsibility for ensuring safe, unadulterated food lies with very large companies bc the small guys depend on it.

Just a friendly reminder to season your vegan cheese. I absolutely love pizza but while there has been great progress in the plant based sector, the cheese is a tad behind. Use complimentary herbs such as basil or oregano on your pizza.

When I worked for USDA, I always verified the gluten levels in foods that stated "gluten-free" but it's nice that the USDA is getting on board with monitoring gluten issues in food.
