Stopped at the cycle parking with the best view last night.

Never made it to try the Chouffe Framboise at Lost Wanderer…did make it to Get Stuffed for a very greasy cheesy garlic bread before the last bus home…

I can’t now recall the thinking behind combining coffee, cardamom and coconut but it works πŸ‘Œ I brewed this in my shed at least 10 years ago and now it’s on the bar at the Crown Posada. If you’re in Newcastle this evening come and hear the >140 characters version of the (admittedly nerdy) story

Time to take a deep breath as we dive into the deluge of North Shields pubs. Too many to count, so I'll be taking a tour of a few over the next week or two.

The Old Black Lion was one of the first you would have confronted leaving the New Quay, right next to the Golden Fleece.

Shout out to all of the bartenders on World Bartender Day!

This is Cameron at The Central Bar in Gateshead, who kindly volunteered to be in our photoshoot recently. Always ready to greet everyone who comes through the door, Cam’s a great example of what helps to make pubs such welcoming spaces.

Rise of the β€˜daycap’: is this the end of late-night drinking? Forget nightcaps – an afternoon tipple is the new way to squeeze socialising into your evening, while still getting to bed on time. A great idea or a recipe for disaster?

Our new Certificate students partook in their first practical Brew Day today, gaining valuable insight into the brewing process in a hands-on way.🍻

They also sampled their brews and analysed them after brewing.πŸ”¬

I usually stay firmly behind the scenes, but I'm breaking my 'no public speaking' rule for the Brewers Journal Lectures on Wednesday. Hope to see some familiar faces there:
