With the politicization and thereby death of MMWR, kudos to @nejm.org for stepping into that breach with

Also we've fetishized "debate” in these spaces as some kind of civic good, when what matters is competence, trust, shared purpose. Medicine, engineering, boardrooms aren’t organized around debate or requirements of false balance. We've poisoned public discourse by insisting it be adversarial.

I'm a solo consultant, so I'm very choosy about my subscriptions. I subscribed to @statnews.com last year and recently re-upped without hesitation. It's incredibly good reporting and worth every penny.

A Bold Jumping Spider watching a human from the edge of a terracotta pot. He is black, with 2 big white spots on his back. He has grey/white hairs all over his legs and body. He has green iridescent chelicerae (mouth parts of some sort…I don’t know I’m not a spider person) which kinda looks like a cute little green mustache. Read more about them here: https://extension.psu.edu/bold-jumper-spider
I usually keep my distance from spiders, but jumping spiders are kinda cute IMO. I politely escorted one off my porch last week and I swear he watched me futzing in the garden, like he wanted to hang around, chat, and become fast old friends.

For 20 people, I made 5 pies + guests brought 3. Had to be sure we had the 2 pie minimum on the bourbon pecan. Streusel pumpkin, lemon chess, cherry almond joined the party.

That is a great tip. I love butternut but slicing/peeling always feels like an ER visit waiting to happen. My latest go-to is delicata. No peeling, easy to slice, ready to eat in 20-30, and really delicious.
