Often times breaking the cycle is a lot like planting trees, you won't get to experience the shade but the generation that follows will. This was a nice reminder that it's not easy but it's worth it.

It struck me that all of our struggles to break the cycle as led to this moment. My husband and I have created a household where fighting is not only not normal but unacceptable.

This evening while the oldest was playing VR he experienced one of his friends parents fighting pretty aggressively in the background. The child said it was normal but my guy got really upset to the point on tears. He later said "no kid should go through something like that"
