This is a cool project if you're looking for some peaceful ambient background music that doesn't distract while working. The binaural beats are also a plus for focusing while you're wearing headphones ๐ŸŽง

I built a digital wind chime Inspired by Brian Eno.

Real-time weather data (wind, temp, humidity) drives a generative ambient audio engine. Add 5 optional binaural beat frequency options. It's your personal ambient soundtrack, created by the world

Do you work better with background sound, but find music too distracting?

I made Sonaur for you! Choose from 2 ambient sonic palettes generated by weather data. No repeats, no lyrics, no skips, no thought required. Just focus.

Give it 5 minutes: sonaur.vercel.app

Early feedback appreciated. ๐ŸŒŠ

The UX of Your Insights: Why No One Reads the Research Report | Rooost Playbook Why your carefully crafted research reports gather dust and how to make insights usable for your team

How much of your user research actually influences product decisions? Nearly half of teams we surveyed admit their decisions are based on assumptions. The problem often isn't the research qualityโ€”it's buried & inaccessible user research files

โ€œLet's say you've got five chimes. Each one is a particular pitch. It's not going to change.

It's only that pitch. But how and when they strike depends on the wind. So it's sort of semi-random.

So you can't really say that you composed that particular performance. Though you can say that I built the system from which that performance emanated. You know, a wind chime is basically a simple piece of generative music.โ€

On Monday, I was inspired by an interview I heard with Brian Eno where he mentioned wind chimes.

I thought... what if I could build something that uses data sources to create random, ambient music?

I started brainstorming

Most User Personas Suck. Hereโ€™s How to Fix Them โ€” Pixel Perfect Talent Anyone whoโ€™s worked with me knows: Iโ€™ve never been the biggest fan of creating personas. Not because personas are a bad idea per se, but because the way most teams create and apply them is broken.

Sounds like confirmation bias meets illusory superiority. Execs/PMs trust their own experience over user research that contradicts them. Add a dash of motivated skepticism (suddenly questioning methodology only when findings are unfavorable) and you get why UXR often isn't heard

With the pace that teams can deliver features, UXRs are more important than ever. If only product leaders will truly listen to & respect what the researchers are uncovering

We are adding a coding section to all of our Product Managers interviews at @Shopify.
We'll start with APM interviews. We expect candidates to build a prototype of the product they suggested in the case interview.
There is no excuse for PMs not building prototypes.

Interesting from a few perspectives:

1. The ability to write code isnโ€™t required to produce an effective prototype

2. This is another sign of the convergence and consolidation of software product team roles due to AI tools

3. Are prototyping skills an indicator of a successful product manager?
