Oh gawd has Carol been got by them now? It really is starting to feel a bit 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' out there.

We all know it's only 1 in 4, but the flagshaggers really believe they are a whopping majority. Because Nige and Elon say so.

I want to see the legislation that guarantees the water needs of AI data centres will always be subordinate to the needs of residents and that hosepipe bans etc, can only be introduced after datacentres have been advised to pause operations.

itvpeston.bsky.social do you think it would've been OK if she'd said she was driven mad by all the Jewish faces she sees on telly? I assume not. In which case, why is this different?

It is a good piece, but the Guardian is a bit late on it. @bylinetimes.bsky.social and @thenerve.news have been on this for a while.

Skittles. This is how I see Reform's support dwindling in a better future. Because the truth has a way of revealing itself and they have enough rope.

After liking this post, I was very quickly followed by what appeared to be a pornbot. Has this happened to anyone else?

It is astonishing that successive UK governments have ignored this de facto warfare against the UK. The appeasement of Brexiteers continues to bring the country down and will continue to do so. Ten years in nearly and we have no leadership on this.

So none of these new houses should be built within at least 50m of ancient or veteran woods and trees then? Yet they will be.

Old chestnut from the bog standard fascist playbook. Turn 'night' into 'day'. Therefore protesting for peace and tolerance against violent oppression = 'violence'.

I agree. Not impressed with Oxygen and the piece of the Dartmoor valley they've taken on is special to me so I'm quite concerned. I'm genuinely interested in the long term historic distributions of these fungi, most of which can grow in UK woods though nowhere near as abundantly as in grasslands.

Waxcaps don't 'hate trees'. Most species are found in woods, though less abundantly. Outside of Europe they are more associated with woods than grasslands. Waxcap grasslands are important to conserve of course, but are anthropogenic. Pre-farming they would have been found in both woods and glades.

British Airways practicing guilt by association now? Louis has interviewed neo Nazis on more than one occasion, but BA have no problem with that clearly.

Why should benefit claimants have these controls on their freedom of movement anyway? If they are abroad visiting friends or family for 3 months, why should that make them ineligible for benefits once returned home?

Just a random dump of the rugged tablet on the ground in an ancient woodland in South Croydon. Luminous field maple leaves and chestnuts popping constantly underfoot. #trees #mastyear #croydon

Not for the first time, another woodburner report from Ricardo, who are heavily involved with the electric heating industry. There's no new data, just modelling, they say it's based on 'scientific studies' but do not cite any. They vaguely state the 2490 deaths are caused 'in part' by woodburning.

The first sane thing she's ever said. So undo the coup. Fill the foretold gaping holes in the national finances. There will still be 3 yrs to mollify shrieking Brexiteers. They of course will go increasingly quiet as a humungous national sigh of relief kicks in after 10 yrs of delusional self harm.

I do hope he takes this bone Carol. It will become more valuable to him andc the Greens as the truth reveals itself over time, as it inevitably does.

I think / hope that when it finally comes to it, if we are still seeing these kind of polling results (big IF), that tactical voting against manifest wankerdom may well prevail. It keeps me going.

This, this and only this. The most surprising thing about these times for me, in my apparent naivety, is the significant number of others who are not experiencing this reality in real time, not seeing, not preparing, not resisting. This will only be the easier option for a very limited time.

I would just like an old school search engine, which crawls vast areas of the web, giving substantial and diverse results, like Google was years ago before it morphed into the corporately captured, much diminished service it is today. AI makes way too many mistakes to be a viable contender for that.
