I am so deeply sorry your sweet boy gained his wings. Your grief is so so valid and I understand it completely. The first year is especially hard as you experience all the “firsts” w/o your favorite soul by your side. Keep going. Keep grieving. I know he’s supporting you from above as your angel♥️

You don't need to prove your love to your pet after they pass. You don't need to question a smile, laughter, or even loving another animal. Your angel-pet doesnt want you to punish yourself in their honor. No one knows your heart more than your angel-pet. They know you'll always love them. #petloss

Loss of a pet is especially hard because this is a soul that was w/ us more than ANYONE. This is a soul who saw the most raw version of us & loved us unconditionally regardless of our flaws. Losing them is a loss of acceptance in a world where we so often feel alone. Your grief is valid. #petloss

Often our pets were w/ us when no one else was so they saw a version of us that no one else saw. When they pass away it feels as though we not only lost them, but that we've lost that version of us - like it never existed. It's natural to feel this & you should allow yourself to mourn that. #petloss

Your pet didn’t pass away to punish you, to teach you a lesson, or because “everything happens for a reason”. Your pet passed away because their physical bodies cannot last forever even with all the $ in the world. The universe is not teaching you anything and this is not your fault.♥️ #Petlossgrief

After pet loss it's natural to question yourself & feel guilt; but just because you FEEL the guilt doesn't mean that it's the truth. While feeling guilt is valid, don't take the guilt as always correct. Don't let your grief lie to you. Your pet was SO lucky to be yours. Don't forget that.♥️ #petloss

Grieving the loss of your pet IS as big as it feels. No you can't just "move on" or "get over it" as others around you may ask you to do. You're allowed to mourn for more than 2 weeks. You're allowed to be messy, to act out of character, to isolate, to cry everyday. Your grief is SO valid. #petloss
