It is the most extraordinary and life changing experience Iโve ever had.
I published a daily video and blog documenting the journey.

Also (though it possibly needs some rearranging) made a "Sometimes, Always, Never" on parts of a circle that I've got to say... I'm pretty chuffed with ๐

A slide to explain the concept of oranginess (in other words, how diluted is your orange squash?)
A โwhich is orangierโ question answered 3 ways.
A whole exercise of โwhich is orangier?โ
This is always one of my favourite lessons to do with Y8. #MathsToday

My order 2004 - times tables to instant recallโฆ.ease of remembering:
10x, 11x, 2x, square facts, 5x, 9x, 12x
Now just 10 facts to be able to recall
3x4, 7x8
8x3, 6x4, 4x8
3x7, 3x6
4x7, 6x7, 6x8
Oh so like @brunoreddy.bsky.social heat maps

After 34 years of research - my order to help pupils to total instant recall of times tables - especially for those who struggle.
This is not necessarily the order that times tables need to be taught for understanding.
A couple more blog posts coming, but something to ponder over Saturday morning breakfast...

Australian maths educators!
Iโm interested in what pedagogical approaches are being recommended/mandated in your state, system, sector or school.
Can you point me at web links?
DMs if youโd prefer.
Does anyone else disagree (greatly) with the NCETM order of teaching times tables?
10x, 5x,
2x, 4x, 8x
3x, 6x, 9x
