Scranton residents, business owners raise concerns about extending paid downtown parking hours The Scranton City Council's 2-2 vote on extending paid parking hours temporarily blocked the idea, but the issue is expected to come up again Tuesday.

🎤Scranton City Council will meet this upcoming Tuesday at 6:30 PM in City Council Chambers located on the second floor of City Hall. Please show up and let City Council know why this is bad for local businesses and bad for Scranton.

🟩Good News: Scranton City Council tied 2-2 in a vote on this new proposal, meaning the motion failed.

🟥However: The matter could come up for another vote. And there is a planned discussion on the rate increase set for Tuesday's Meeting.

The proposal would increase the parking meter hours on weekdays, and from 7am-6pm on Saturday(currently it is free all day on Saturdays). Also, the hourly rate would rise by 25 cents. Residents and Local Businesses are NOT happy about this and they showed up on Tuesday to voice their concerns.
