i wish i could teach all the world the difference between linguistic prescriptivism and linguistic descriptivism, and then get them to apply that knowledge to gender. Its useless to try to tell billions of people what their gender "should" be, when they can tell you themselves what their genders are

A lot of oregon households (and trust me on this I grew up in one) openly abhor racism toward other races but find casual racism toward latinos as "normal" and innofensive. Par for the course.

People are being terrible to you, and it sucks.
