A few weeks ago, I was thinking about what events have actually changed men’s cycling in recent history and after some time, I started to see a pattern – a lot of things that transformed cycling into what it is now happened in the year 2019.

Poner esta etapa en un sábado debería tener pena de cárcel. El Giro es una carrera a la deriva desde hace muchos años.

2020 and 2021 were quite awful as well. In the 2010s, there were some nice editions (2015, 2016, 2018) but Vuelta was better in my opinion. I agree that the Tour was worse, in spite of some horrible Giro editions e.g 2012.

The Siena stage may bring some fun

There's always a lot of hope with chaos at Giro, but it is usually the most boring grand tour. Imho.

Indeed. I don't think Mads can win from the break. A reduced bunch sprint will be complicated as well. There's every chance we have a strong breakaway and even if we dont, Lidl will have few domestiques to control the last 40 km. That's provided that Mads can survive the cat 2 climb.

He can easily give it away tomorrow either to Mads or to the breakaway.
