Also, not all students are using (or even want to use) this technology. Students are allies, not adversaries.

I think this is a great time for instructors to consider a flipped approach to teaching. Have students engage with content outside class. Then have them do the work for the course during class, where you're present and available. Maybe I should start marketing my Flipped Learning workshop as such.

For reference, the Learning Objectives for the workshop are:
- Identify key challenges and opportunities AI tools present for traditional assessment methods.
- Evaluate existing assignments for vulnerability to AI misuse and adapt them to promote authentic learning and critical thinking.

As I prepare for this workshop, I'd like to crowdsource helpful resources, frameworks, and ideas/suggestions that I can share with faculty who are curious, experimenting, and/or struggling.

I'm facilitating a workshop in a couple weeks titled "Re-evaluating Student Assessment in the Age of AI" and I'm really looking forward to digging in with faculty on philosophical considerations and practical strategies for assessing student learning amid a constantly changing AI landscape.

It has happened before and it will happen again! Although there's something about the MM streaming platforms that doesn't like being shown on the big screen in the CETLSS Classroom. Nevertheless, I persist.

Our coffee maker broke in the middle of an ice storm this weekend.

We'll be okay until the roads are clear. Still have the espresso maker and moka pot. But RIP to the Cuisinart that got us through some wild times. Truly the end of an era.

Communicating Effectively with Students about Alternative Grading Helping students track their grade and understand its meaning

Today on Grading for Growth: Halley McCormick describes how she introduces students to the ideas of alternative grading and reinforces those ideas throughout the semester.

"Students can't cheat with AI if they're using AI [for an assignment]!" is a real thing I just heard in a meeting. People clapped.

CETLSS goes all-in this week! I don't mind it, but I won't do a workshop on the first morning back again lol.

I often remind myself (and others) that "good enough" is both "good" and "enough".

I couldn't believe it! I always cut up old cards when I get new ones but this year I REALLY cut that thing up.

Oh my therapist had previously been a CPP provider, so maybe it will only be $10 when I see them next. That would be swell. Thanks for the info!

You're absolutely right. It was a workshop I'd done before, so it went smoothly enough. Just not my best work.

Not enough people are talking about copay prices. I'm on the NC State Health Plan and all of my copays just DOUBLED from last year. And my therapist went from $0 to $50 a session. Are people talking about this and I'm just missing it?
