👉 Developed by the @cdeiupc.bsky.social team (Alba Perez Gracia, David Caballero Flores, Carles Domenech, Nuria Rodríguez Calderón, Elena Blanco Romero, Yeray Navarro Soler, Lluis Bonet Ortuño), #ROSAQUA robot provides a smart, autonomous solution to optimize irrigation, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability.
🤖 Our robot combines mobile autonomy with advanced sensors (GPR, RGB-D, thermal, NDVI) to:
✅ Map subsoil humidity
✅ Detect main roots
✅ Monitor water stress and crop health
✅ Generate 3D soil maps for precise agronomic decisions

🌱 #AGROSUMA’T Project: Empowering small-scale agriculture in Peru through adapted automation
📌 We are thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of the #AGROSUMA’T project — an exciting initiative that aims to introduce adapted automated technologies in smallholder agricultural systems in Peru.
🔵 Over the coming months, our team members Alba Perez Gracia, Carles Domenech, Elena Blanco Romero, and David Caballero Flores will work closely with farming communities in the region, alongside our key partner — Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego, represented by Ricardo Prado Gardini — to identify real needs and co-create practical, accessible solutions that make sense on the ground.
🚜 This project goes far beyond technology. It is a pathway to social transformation: fostering knowledge exchange, empowering local actors, and building a more efficient, resilient, and sustainable agriculture for the future.

🚀 Innovation for circular construction 🚀
✅ We’ve just held the First General Assembly Meeting of the DISCOVER Horizon — a Horizon Europe project funded by the European Commission — on May 27–28, 2025, in Athens.
♻️ Coordinated by CDEI-UPC Centre de Disseny d'Equips Industrials, the project brings together leading professionals in demolition, construction, and recycling from eight European countries, working together to advance circularity in the built environment by means of robotics and AI. 🤖🧱
💡During the meeting, we shared progress from the first 12 months: key milestones, completed deliverables, and work package updates were presented. It was also a fantastic opportunity to strengthen collaboration and align on next steps!

🌿 Last week we were at #Agròpolis (UPC) to continue advancing within the framework of the #PREVENTBot project.
🙏 We would like to thank the #LEGITIMADA project for their collaboration, which allowed us to access their experimental broad bean crop.
This enabled us to continue training our models for:
💠 automatic plant segmentation,
💠 leaf temperature estimation using thermal sensors,
💠 and water stress assessment through the fusion of RGB-D, thermal and NDVI data.
🔍 These trials allow us to validate and expand the applicability of our models to different plant varieties, by comparing our predictions with the agronomic results from the #LEGITIMADA project. 🚀 All this contributes to our goal of developing autonomous crop monitoring solutions through advanced robotics and sensing, moving toward a more efficient, sustainable and digital agriculture.
