Now, realistically, you need 2/3rds of the Senate to vote to convict and remove, and since this is just being mad at Trump following the law, I'd be a bit shocked if they even got a third of the votes.

But this isn't about outcomes, it's about performance, so Andy has to make noise.

But in this tweet, he's advocating for people that enforce the law against Trump by ruling against him to be removed.

Not for "high crimes and misdemeanors", but because having Trump follow the law is apparently a bridge too far for Andy.

Now Andy is the guy who has proposed allowing Trump a 3rd term by amending the constitution, in addition to lobbying for Trumps face to be added to Mount Rushmore.

So you know he's got his priorities straight -- just the important stuff for this guy.

That's why I say this is propaganda and not reporting.

A video, with someone that looks like Katie Porter, handing out "free" stuff, without any monitor -- when all of that is untrue, vague or not confirmed with actual facts.

Be mindful of this when seeing this stuff.

Now, I don't know what the California laws are around campaigning, but there isn't even an allegation that this is against the law -- just vague handwaving that this is "bad".

Also, most states have local monitors from both major parties at least, so this is just inaccurate.

So first, we don't see the person from the front, just in profile, so I'm not sure if it's Katie Porter as claimed.

Second, it's totally unclear what she is handing out -- it's claimed that it is "free stuff", but without detail we don't know what it is at all.

This is all about shifting the "Overton window", and to normalize the fact he MIGHT run in 2028.

The sad part to me here is that Bannon doesn't feel they could find someone with the chops to take up the MAGA cause to run after Trump leaves.

But don't let them normalize this crap.

First thing first, here was a lot of posts about this, and I picked this one as it came up early in my search.

There is lots of people complaining that "Trump isn't serious" or that "he's just trolling". Which is of course why he's trying to prosecute people who pursued cases against him.

Instead of taking stock and thinking, "hey, maybe some of that was wrong", their reaction is to lash out.

*They* could not be wrong; this isn't repugnant to most Americans, no -- it is the GOP leadership that is in the wrong.

So much for the party of personal responsibility.

So phew, that's a rant. Also, not sure who this is exactly, but I'm guessing this is related to Matt's meltdown and JD Vance's comments.

Lots to process here.
The first thing that hit me is that this person is more mad about the fallout then the least bit thoughtful about what they did.

So take this as an opportunity to remember that; criticize, mock and belittle their dumb ideas and mistakes.

It undermines them and makes them look bad, as they should. Keep doing it!!

I'm glad that Matt is so mad that he felt he needed to take to Twitter and call it a "b*tch move" though, as it shows how actually fragile and petty things are over on the right.

This is one reason that mocking and making fun of them works so well -- they are too concerned about appearances.

So, disclosure first - I have no clue what triggered this, I don't have insight yet into the backstory.

That said, LOL.

I'm very amused that "unity on the right" isn't about debate, transparency or open criticism, but rather private backchannels.

Kirk wasn't a philanthropist or a deep thinker; he was a committed partisan who found an audience he was able to build a platform which paid him pretty well.

Pretending he did something he didn't doesn't build his legacy, it just builds a lie.

Bessent frames him as a "financial educator" but really he discouraged people from going to school. Maybe his lesson was "save $ by not going to college"?
Most of his interactions with students are about "owning" them, not trying to persuade or educate.

So, this is just more creative revisionism about what Kirk stood for. His org supposedly was to bring more college students into the fold, but his main audience was much older and generally not college educated.
