No sequencer or real instruments were used, just commands, notes, duration and data typed into the editor/assembler we used to build the game. Here's an example from NES Solstice. Each channel had its own list of instructions

Nope. MODE is the CVBasic statement to select video mode and by default starts in MODE 0. It isn't referred to the TI hardware mode nor the MSX BASIC definitions.

CVBasic now supports MODE 4 for MSX2 (similar to MODE 0 but enables extended sprites) and DEFINE SPRITE COLOR for selecting sprites color. I've also added viboritas_msx2.bas to show how to do OR'ed sprites for 3 colors. #retro #retrogaming #msx
