When IVB can be misleading

I have been looking into arm angles as a way to try and quantify unexpected Movement

If a pitcher’s IVB is above what is average for their arm angles we might be able to infer it rides more than expected

Does this just mean he releases his slider higher than his other pitches?

Like what’s the difference between VRA and HRA and regular release height and side height?

So I plotted every four-seam fastball thrown by the #RedSox and #Cubs in 2024

Notice how the Cubs' fastballs have more cut, while the Red Sox have more true riding four-seamers
