It's actually better to throw *bait* at Chansey in FRLG before throwing balls due to a programming oversight; it becomes both less likely to flee and more likely to be caught.
Kangaskhan, Scyther, Pinsir, Tauros, Dragonair and Dratini also become less likely to flee but keep the same catch rate.

Switch is the same game but with a fancier graphical style (subjective preference) and a ton of meaningful new content that is completely unintrusive to the original if you don't want to engage with it. Also a few QoL improvements and no waggle.
It's honestly one of the best remakes of all time.

To many mecha fans, seeing people throw heaps of praise into Evangelion for just doing regular mecha things feels like JRPG fans watching the public treat Expedition 33 like some sort of revolutionary game.
Both of them are just classic genre pieces that proudly take from many of their predecessors.

People claim Evangelion is a "deconstruction" when 70% of it is Anno being a massive Ideon (1980) fanboy.
Evangelion's real trick was coming in at the right place, right time; it revitalized the mecha genre that had fallen out of popularity by executing it well for the audience tastes of the time.

My scorched earth take is that New Super Mario Bros. 2 is the best 2D Mario game and I don't think much else comes close.

Not certain about Christmas specifically but it's definitely one of the best songs for a december holiday.

(For perspective, it is essentially the same as what's going on between the US and Venezuela right now; two awful governments throwing shit at each other and causing international tension purely for their own political gain without giving a single damn about the people of either of those countries.)

I just noticed Reimu got redesigned entirely within the span of one chapter and I'm really not a fan.
I think Mizutaki is trying to go for a more ZUN-accurate look but it looks extremely out of place in the context of what came before.

I've always found that very brief period of time around the year 1990 where the 0080 designs were seemingly set to be treated as replacements for their original counterparts going forward (before plans quickly changed into keeping them as-is) incredibly fascinating.

I've always seen Relena as a direct successor to Shahkti, and I feel like both ultimately trace their roots to Cecily, who herself feels the closest to Sayla among the bunch. So I think Cecily is the true link between the two archetypes (and one of the few things from F91 to have any lasting impact)

That's the Japanese Wikipedia page listing music genres; the term is seemingly what's used in Japanese to refer to the "Yé-yé" genre.
Considering that's literally a genre of pop, I assume the way it's used in this context is meant to be synonymous with "Gothic" instead, which makes way more sense.

It's tough being a Metroid fan online when you think Prime 1 is kinda stinky while Prime 2 and Prime 3 are GOATs, and think Other M is actually pretty good with the Japanese dub and script.
Anyway, I'm finally excited for Metroid Prime 4 again after the bike had destroyed my optimism. Can't wait.

A lot of Metroid fans sadly reject anything that isn't another Super Metroid or Prime 1 clone. And that includes other video games that they think "stole the spotlight from" Metroid.
The entire situation with Tropical Freeze was as embarrassing as it gets.

Funnily enough, the earliest iteration of the Super Famicom that we know of (from 1988) DID use ABCD, as well as E and F for the shoulder buttons! Both got changed into the ABXY and LR buttons we're familiar with by 1989, though with a different configuration. The final form took shape by 1990.

He's also far from the only indie dev like that; ZUN for example has the same mindset and so the only Touhou games with official English releases are spin-offs and fangames. He fully approves fan translations, he just (understandably) doesn't want his name officially attached to text he cannot read.

Toby simply wants his personal work to be fully checked and approved by him when presented as an official translation of what we wrote, and the only languages he's familiar with are EN/JP.
I can't blame him for it when there are plenty of horror stories out there like Silksong's Chinese translation.

One time I did some research and found out that the name "Douglas Jay Falcon" was seemingly just made up by random Wikipedia editors and wasn't ever actually in the (unarchived and lost media) F-Zero X website to begin with.
