Space Fraud was a popular fan theory for a long time. While toying with portals, I made a scene that felt like gravity was changing. Hakita liked it, and suggested we make it a reality :)
I had a ton of fun making the skybox!!!

This was definitely the most ambitious model we've done. It has SO SO SO many more limbs than anything else, which made animation a nightmare for Hakita. Special thanks to Domenico Antonazzo for hopping over from Gloomwood to rig this guy.

This was a tough enemy to create, from its number of limbs to the unique way it moves.
We wanted it to feel extra gross, so I made a procedural locomotion system just for it. It's legs have no animation! Instead, it figures out how to walk on any terrain via code.

This isn't even all of them, and I struggled to present these due to the sheer quantity. Fraud probably had more one-off props than the rest of the game combined.

It was really hard to get a good capture of the city since the whole thing doesn't even fit onscreen. Go check it out ingame!!! Smell the roses. Stick your face into the polygons. Breathe in the pixels and just vibe out dude.

Unlike Lust, I hand placed every building in Fraud's city to get a more naturalistic European town. It's mostly based on a visit to Florence I did years back, though inspired by Paris as well. The city wraps on itself to form what's effectively an O'Neill cylinder.

Some Japanese indie devs are swinging WAY above their weight. Superhero brawler Mightreya is mostly one guy but looks like the work of a mid-sized studio. Underwater souls-like Glaciered looks amazing and is from a tiny (near-solo?) team too.

Yes! Though you could have some fun splitting the party based on movement skills. Possibly movement types governed by class? Air Dash, pogo jump, wall jump, etc. Or collections, like a Samus style class vs an Alucard or Richter style.

Fascinating idea. A real question becomes, how do you handle movement? I consider movement a key part of some of the best in the genre. Some of my favorite designs is being able to take a movement ability your skilled at and overcome an obstacle designed for a different ability.

If you ask someone how Into the Odd has streamlined their games, they will probably mention removing the "to hit" roll and just rolling damage.
I blasphemously ask the question: can we re-incorporate accuracy and missed attacks with Into the Odd without turning it into a major slog?
