You know how I'm protecting my kids? By raising them to learn ways other than violence in response to fear. Because this isn't forever. And they will need the emotional capacity and skills to rebuild from love and compassion.

Been thinking about this all day. Besides it being a middle aged white dude having a typical take, the premise of protecting your family/kid in that way is based deeply in fear. And yes, we're all scared. But responding in such an aggro reactionary way to that fear gets us nowhere but worse.

You don't need a gun. You need to take care of your neighbors. You need to feed people. You need to listen to people. You need to create new ways of existing.

I'm out here just liking all your posts. People who are promoting getting guns because of "keeping their families safe" really don't follow the threads through of situations where they'd be using it. Every situation, having a gun makes it more unsafe and worse.

To go out of the way to really try and get back in with those you've harmed and don't want anything to do with you is honestly pretty disturbing.

I'm honestly not sure it isn't malicious or sociopathic. I don't speak for others, but I know there were a few of us who were trying to stay as compassionate as we could (before shit went down) and she has not reached out AT ALL under this account except to follow me.

I have read a lot of folks saying at the very least get vaginal estrogen to prevent atrophy. Which...was a very big surprise to me that was a possibility. And then I started peeing myself a little whenever we did jumps in dance class 🙄
