15.10.2025 17:09 โ ๐ 22 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Ruby fits like a glove.
15.10.2025 16:58 โ ๐ 33 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Zooming around some of the tree piles the loggers left behind last season. Our neighbor is pretty upset with how they left things back here, but thankfully, our trail is still runnable.
15.10.2025 15:41 โ ๐ 20 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Pretty little Ruby.

13.10.2025 19:22 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Rubin! Ruby for short :)
13.10.2025 19:21 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yes! Heโs also just a BIG boy!
13.10.2025 17:16 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Sharing because character limits; but TL;DR her name is Rubin, Ruby for short!
13.10.2025 16:09 โ ๐ 51 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 4 ๐ 1Heโs got a few summer pounds to lose ๐ but heโs also somehow in full coat.
13.10.2025 16:09 โ ๐ 9 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Puppy: some assembly required.
13.10.2025 11:54 โ ๐ 148 ๐ 8 ๐ฌ 6 ๐ 0Not yet ๐ I usually have them coexist in a crate and rotate fashion til heโs a little less excited about her, then introduce with the muzzle on.
13.10.2025 11:54 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Kuiper?
13.10.2025 11:53 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Big dog time.
12.10.2025 19:00 โ ๐ 97 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 0Not yet! Not mine at least. They did get to hang out with a LORGE eurohound who happens to love puppies.
12.10.2025 00:18 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0They absolutely loved the giant play yard.
11.10.2025 23:52 โ ๐ 25 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0After race puppy party back at the house!
11.10.2025 23:51 โ ๐ 52 ๐ 3 ๐ฌ 4 ๐ 0Correct! Itโs fairly heavy for a race rig but I wouldnโt feel comfortable running six dogs with anything else.
11.10.2025 23:14 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Race day one complete! But also, puppies.
11.10.2025 18:55 โ ๐ 72 ๐ 5 ๐ฌ 5 ๐ 0Just for the weekend! Two will be leaving Sunday, but one is here for good!
10.10.2025 18:39 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Technically THREE puppies will be staying here this weekend, but the other two will be leaving Sunday XD
10.10.2025 18:39 โ ๐ 9 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This is so romantic.
10.10.2025 17:59 โ ๐ 21 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0๐จ WARNING: Puppies imminent! This is not a drill! ๐จ
10.10.2025 17:58 โ ๐ 82 ๐ 3 ๐ฌ 10 ๐ 0Cold temps are back! We were able to take the dogs down to our woods trail again! We lost access due to logging all last season, but itโs been cleaned up! Sheridan lead the way to help navigate a new loop. Having two ATVs already proving to be useful!
09.10.2025 19:44 โ ๐ 43 ๐ 3 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 0Painting this 3โ x 3โ mini portrait was a delight. I have a few spots left for customs available! Plus some premades of the team and linocut prints.

The sigh of relief I felt when I saw this video.
08.10.2025 20:43 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0My cart is on the heavier side, as far as race carts go, but it has a heavy duty claw brake that allows me to safely get off the rig if I need to fix a tangle or something. Safety > winning.
07.10.2025 19:48 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Kinda! There's a wide range of dryland mushing equipment. There's a variety of 3 and 4-wheeled carts for larger teams. Folks also use scooters and bikes for 1-2 dog classes. This is the cart I will be using for my 6-dog team.
07.10.2025 19:47 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Nope, often they're short coated and with our warming climate, it tends to suit them pretty well! In sprint, the distances are short, so they end up back at their truck to warm up. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurohound
07.10.2025 18:53 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0FWIW, sprint is broken up into all breed (including hounds, Alaskans, non-AKC reg dogs) and registered breed. I have basically low expectations of placing well versus the mostly hound teams I run against, so I compare my times to the reg breed class. We usually rank somewhere in the upper/middle.
07.10.2025 13:22 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It depends. I know plenty of sprint mushers with very fast Sibes. Both Sibes and Alaskans are slower than the hound teams in the sprint world. As for long distance, there are Sibe and sibe-heavy teams that finish above Alaskan teams. Manitou Crossing comes to mind. Showier Siberians are slow though.
