This 🇪🇺 tool, now in place, brings a new dimension to solve daily #barriers in #border regions where 30% of #EU citizens live. Next: awareness-raising & real change on the ground. Stay tuned!

But some so-called leaders rather bow to Putin & Trump than work w/European partners.

Another 🇺🇸 step to impose unjustified #tariffs - 25% on cars, incl 🇪🇺. We understood the Trump doctrine: slap tariffs & enjoy the free fall of economies. #Slovak car industry makes 13% GDP w/ major US exports. We don’t want or start trade wars, but #EU must react & stay united.

Full house in @europarl.europa.eu #AFCO’s workshop w/ a number of recognized experts on my report on “Stocktaking of the 2024 🇪🇺 Elections”. Polarisation & wide use of social media, incl. disinformation featuring high. I’ll stick to facts, not emotions. But no time for business as usual.

Never have I ever imagined living in times when a sitting 🇺🇸 President:

1. accuses its major trading partner & ally 🇪🇺 of exploiting US

2. fuels up the trade war w/ us from steel to Champagne 🍾 & wine

What surprised you this week?

Kicked off the day with EVP Raffaele Fitto discussing the mid-term review of the #cohesion policy programmes. We focused on making #EU 🇪🇺 funds more accessible and ensuring #regions can use them more efficiently. Direct access to local & regional authorities remains a priority.

Trump’s administration is thinking that it is the victim, which defends itself, that should be weakened? Halting military aid to 🇺🇦 should lead Russia to stop its agression and seek just & sustainable peace?

We in Europe know it won’t happen. We stand by #Ukraine. 🇺🇸 wake up!

Pres. Trump & VP Vance don’t want to see, hear, or experience the truth. Instead of security guarantees against Putin’s agression they claim the problem is Zelensky’s hatred of Putin? Is this the “art of the deal” in peace talks? Europe meets on Sunday. 🇺🇦 is a sovereign state.

#JustTransition of peatlands in Midlands. From restoration (Living Bog) to Kilcormac: local communities know what. We need to engage them directly, also at #EU.

MEPs visit the West and the Midlands of Ireland to discuss cohesion funding | News | European Parliament Regional Development Committee MEPs will travel to County Galway and the Midland region of Ireland to learn about the use of cohesion funds with local stakeholders.

Just landed in Dublin! On Monday, I’m leading my 1st mission to Ireland as Vice-Chair of REGI.

We’re heading to the West & Midlands to meet local stakeholders, visit several projects & explore how #EU funds can make an impact. Stay tuned.

Great meeting w/ StateSecretary Jan Szyszko. We discussed the plans of #Polan2025EU on the mid-term review & the future of the #CohesionPolicy. It needs to be reformed, but safeguarded for long term investments. We need to keep it closer to our regions & citizens, not further away.

Co-signed this #letter from a number of MEPs. We clearly say: #NO to real peace negotiations #without the full participation of #Ukraine and the #EU at the table. This is about our European #security. Full stop.

Congratulations! To those who cheered on Trump’s election - ideological war was more important to you than the success of EU economy.

#Trade war has no winners. We should focus on coop. more in energy security, defence, China. If 🇺🇸not willing, we’ll defend our 🇪🇺 interests!

As member of #EU-RoK del. met “envoys” from the National Assembly of the Republic of #Korea, incl. liberals from the Democratic Party. Critical to strengthen coop. between those that share views on key issues: #democracy, #security, #trade. Not as a weapon but as necessity.🇪🇺🤝🇰🇷
