More states (like California) are upping prosecution for employers who fail to let employers off to vote. And some ultra-progressive localities are offering childcare for people to vote! :D In the Deep South, voting is a huge deal with party busses, food, and music. Let's get more of that!

5) 21 states require employers to provide paid time off to vote, and 17 states made Election Day a paid holiday! This is great for salaried workers. Not so much for hourly or service, but it's a great start :D Since you're passionate about the topic, advocate to make that 50 states!

My husband and MIL's ballots were chucked too! 🤬 MIL, always suspicious, checked the website and saw that hers had been chucked, and she rescued it an hour before polls closed. So, again, my husband and I were non-voters in 2020 due to some SKETCHY BULLSHIT.

Every state threw away thousands and thousands of votes because of shady, inconsistent practices. In my county, they said my signature didn't look close enough to the one on my drivers license at the DMV. A signature from when I was 17 years old. And they didn't tell me.

4) Hundreds of thousands of people DID vote... and had their ballots thrown out without their knowledge. This was me in 2020, and I'm still furious! I'm a non-voter for 2020! Claudia Tenney won my district by 109 votes. Apparently FOURTEEN FREAKING PERCENT OF MAIL IN BALLOTS WERE CHUCKED IN NEW YORK

3) Thousands of Americans were in in-patient care at the time of voting. Most people don't know they're going to be in the hospital on Election Day and don't get an absentee ballot. I was in the hospital Election Day 2022. NGL I was too busy trying to find out why I was dying to vote.

2) Millions of those "non-voters" are people who have died. I checked my grandmother, grandfather, and grand-aunts' registrations. My grandmother is still registered to vote in New York and Pennsylvania. She died in the pandemic. Despite election truther claims, dead people do not vote.

I'm one of them. I didn't realize I was still registered in New York until this year when I got targeted ads. Among the millions are my husband, brothers, Steve Bannon, the Kushners, and more. They don't vote twice, so they're counted as non-voters.

Okay buddy. Well, let me assuage your fears, since this is very important to you :)

I know that it's taboo to talk about, but voter roll purges would give us a more accurate number of how many non-voters there actually are. Except we don't trust those purges because too many actual voters get caught in those. Dead people can't vote, and honest people don't vote twice.

I'm actually extremely curious how much of that number are actual old voter registrations. I'm actually double-counted in that 245 million! I didn't remove myself from New York when we moved to Maryland. So is my husband, my brother, and sister in law.

I think you're getting really emotional, and that's really not good for framing any mindset.

Maybe cool off and focus on the ethos of your presentation. I don't think you're going to change any minds.

TBH if *my* ballot didn't get chucked, I wouldn't have believed that voter suppression was as bad as the facts say.
