It is important to remember ground-breaking creators who might otherwise be forgotten. Today I want to honor Ron Horton (or Ron H.) who first published the size-themed collage magazine "Black Giantess" in 1995.

The post reads as follows: "What's especially uncomfortable about [Size Fiction's attitude towards the raceplay tag] for me is that literally one of the foundational figures in our community — who desktop-published a number of key independent magazines for sizey folks in the early days of the community coalescing on the early Internet in the '90s — was a Black man, who predominantly worked with a Black dominatrix, who was extremely open about the fact that size kink dynamics had a political dynamic to them, and that viewing the Black woman as giantess was a way of undoing the oppression of racial hierarchies. As the work of Ron H. and the 'Black Giantess' magazine proved 30 years ago, there is absolutely a place for exploration of racial oppression and hierarchy in size kink art/writing through a considered social justice lens, but as he also discovered back then — much as there is a significant subset of cis-het men who just want to use the giantess' body as a vessel for their own power inversion fantasies — there are a hell of a lot of people who saw someone making space to centre Black women as giantess, and decided to appropriate it to act out or attempt to publish their racist fantasies and strip the Black giantess of her agency. We need more Black characters in size fiction, and more Black writers and writers of colour in our community. Artists too.

Here's my take on the recent Size Fiction website controversy. Having recently received a load of PDF scans of 'Black Giantess' zines from Katharine Gates, the attitude of 1990s Black size kinkster Ron H. towards centring the Black body in his erotic giantess art feels important right now.
