Democrats don't historically undo what the Republicans fuck us into; they just keep the new status quo mostly as is until the Republicans can get back in power and start fucking things up again. I don't see anybody trusting America again, we are clearly an inherently unstable nation.

I'm hearing reports that the elderly despotic leader is now afraid to reenter the capital and is attempting to establish a functioning government in a gilded palace located in a remote southern part of the country.

To be clear, I was never good at the exercises, but when I was younger I could at least put up with the hyper-straight vibes 🤢 a little so I could poorly copy their movements and get in a workout. Now I’m much much pickier with my coaches.

Besides all that, which is pretty typical of the post-Annie Leibovitz tv production glamor shoot era, the kid’s hair looks perfectly intentional in a way that feels out of place. But for all I know that’s accurate to the game 🤷‍♀️

(She projects gravity & confidence as Janeway as though she’d been doing it for years because… she had been doing it for years. If I was a 93 casting director looking for gravity & confidence where even an amateur director with a middling script can still get the juice from the actor, I’d call KM.)

Most of the other leads (even PS and AB) started by doing Acting, which is why it’s so impressive when someone like KM can come in and just Be.

Honestly, and I say this loving all the casts, this is an area where the Voyager ensemble shown right from day one, though of course KM is the highlight.

I say this as a big fan of KM & GB: they both… did their same usual got-to acting choices immediately evident in previous projects. The triumph of Janeway out the gate is a testament to casting’s importance, not to say they both didn’t put in good work.

Let me scream into the void about something that doesn’t matter because how the fuck else am I going to keep my sanity and get through another day.

Which is a long lead up to saying I’ve never played any god of war games, and I have no horse in this race beyond always hoping a new show is good: it’s a bad promo photo. It’s not the worst ever, and I have no real sense of how “accurate” it is to the game or the show.

It’s not just gamers hating.

I occasionally play Mario kart 64 & sonic 2 on genesis, and I’ve played several games over the years (goldeneye, bioshock, uncharted, portal, some detective ones I don’t recall titles of), but I’d not really consider myself a gamer anymore than someone who has seen some marvel movies is a cinephile.

As a huge fan of Eaves’ work… I’m not sure I agree. He’s more influenced by his own design predilections and only lightly makes ships fit their era / detailing. I don’t particularly care for the protostar final design, but it’s an iconic silhouette, which the earlier concepts are decidedly not.

This bears repeating over and over and is in fact quite standard for fascist ideology: “we are big and strong and the bestest ever, but also look how horrible that big strong other guy is, so many big guys I mean all little guys we can easily destroy but they are destroying us for reasons so big.”
