Spit it out . . .

"See me as more than a friend."

Sigyn squeezes her eyes closed, bracing for the inevitable rejection. He would make it kind. She does not doubt that. But it would be a rejection nonetheless.

~ to say this . . . but I think you are wonderful."

Innocent enough. Hardly scandalous.

"I admire you greatly, and I . . ."

Can't he see what he does to her? He must hear her heart beating because it feels like it wants to jump out of her chest.

"For a long time, I have harbored the hope that ~

~ is never shy when it comes to men, even to the point of damage to her reputation. Is that fair? No. Men can do as they please without repercussions.

For a brief moment, Sigyn really does wish she could channel a bit of her mother's confidence.

The young goddess takes a breath.

"I have no right~

She is terrified because what if he rejects her?

"Ladies do not normally . . ." Sigyn begins but then stops. "Say the things I wish to say."

Because there are expectations that at gentleman take the lead. Then again, he mother is Freyja who quite literally wrote the book on love. She certainly ~

That makes Sigyn chuckle.

"Obviously. But I am glad that you are. We can talk here."

Not that they could not inside, but it is noisy. And she would feel like they were being watched. Here, they can just be them which is something she thinks they both desperately need.

"My pleasure."

She fixes up her own cup and sits there happily drinking. She wants to make conversation, too, though.

"So . . . can I ask you about you?"

"Consider it done," Sigyn replies with a definitive nod. "Come by tomorrow even."

She thought so, but some might not expect it of the Goddess of Chaos. Sigyn tends to be observant, though.

"I am sure you have many responsibilities at these events, too."

"It was getting a bit loud in there for me."

She is unsure how Loki feels about the banquets, but Sigyn tends to feel . . . caged. Caged and if everyone is looking at her.

When Sigyn returns to the table, it is with a tray with two cups of coffee, cream, and sugar.

"Was not sure how you take it, so I brought a little bit of everything."

"You really should come by the shop more."

She says that not because she wishes to see him -- which she does -- but because she wants Loki to meet people, too. To make friends.

"Lots of really great regulars who are more like friends. I could introduce you if you want."

~ down but looks up now to meet his gaze.

"I am afraid," she confesses. "There is so much I wish to say."

~ fearful of taking another leap only to find she had misinterpreted. He had kissed her hands, though . . . he insinuated /he/ wishes to give her all she deserves.

That is not nothing.

"That you like me for who I am."

A happy medium.

Sigyn takes a breath.

"Loki, I . . . " She had been looking ~

She had been bold with her comment, but Loki was bolder still. Her heart nearly jumps from her chest it is beating so swiftly when he kisses her hands.

Was he . . . are they . . .

"I am not sure I could ever be anyone but myself. It means the world that you see that and . . ." Sigyn pauses, ~

Fair point, she thinks.

"Well, I certainly don't want to take you from your very important work. Should you need a spot to set up and sell, you are welcome here. I get a lot of folks early in the morning."

Headed off to their own very important work.

Sigyn smiles kindly once addressed and walks up to stand beside the goddess.

"I did not wish to disturb you, but the evening is lovely, isn't it?"

~ Midgard -- as much as she might always dream it for her and for them -- she knows he has his place here.

"I do not wish to be where you are not."

Here. There. Anywhere.

The goddess laughs lightl.

"Am I allowed to say that to a prince?"

Her breath catches in her throat.

For her. He dreams because of her.

Sigyn almost fears to read too much into his words. To hope. And maybe her sister was right. Maybe she needs to be brave so that she can /know/.

"I would stay here . . . for you."

Because as much as she would love a life on ~

~ removing the boutonnière of sorts. It fits given what they gave her.

"We seem to be on the same wavelength. May I?"

"You always show me that, but yes . . . this is amazing. And I hope you know just how much you guys mean to me, too."

They might have planned the dinner, but Sigyn removes a small plastic container from her bag.

"We might be dining in, but I thought this would add a special touch," she comments ~

~ voices. "Or are you just willing to like it? For me?"

She is not sure which thought she likes better -- that he shares her dreams or that he would be willing to forgo his own for her sake.

Perhaps things really are as plain as day.

Sigyn's eyes widen.

"I would love that," she says, nearly at a whisper -- almost afraid that vocalizing her desires would summon the guards to them.

Is such a thing possible . . . likely not. But she loves the dream.

"Would you really like such a thing?" she asks, hope barely concealed in her ~

~ And Sigyn admires Löfn too much to see anything but perfection in the middle sister.

The young goddess nods, though she is not sure how she feels about being informal with the queen.

"Yes . . . Frigga."

Goodness, that feels strange. But not bad.

"My mother only fears we would make a bad impression. Well . . . she mostly fears I will."

Snotra had served Frigga for some time. ~

~ I would love."

But she has another question.

"Do you think Frigga would be happy? About us . . . if there happened to become an us?"

~ But they had yet to share their thoughts on the pair.

Drama for later.

"I do not want . . . magic involved."

Meaning, she does not want Loki magically compelled to confess any feelings for her. If that comes, she wants it to be real.
