Cruise test drive @ San Francisco

Cruiseの自動運転タクシーに初めて乗ってみる機会があった。時間帯で利用可能エリアが決まっていて、今回はサンフランシスコ西側のゴールデンゲートパーク周辺を乗ってみた。あの人間でも面倒なサンフランシスコのダウンタウンを運転手なしにスムーズに走っていく。かなり完成された自動運転技術。テスラのしょぼいフルセルフドライビングとは比較にならない。出発時に周りの車から抜け出すのにややスタックしたが、人間のリモートオペレーターが遠隔操作して無事に出発。車線変更、交差点、歩行者、自転車との共有車線なども危なげなく走る。
