i'm obviously biased (english major), but i do not understand how someone can willingly pay for their education and spend it taking shortcuts that completely defeat the purpose of their work. sure, "work smarter not harder," but now you have literally nothing to take from what you were doing. great.

i was sitting in class today and there were two people in front of me just blatantly using chatgpt (for something incredibly easy by the way). it was painfully obvious, and they weren't even trying to hide it.

what happened to shame? how can anyone do this and not feel even a little bit of guilt?

sorry if this isn't the place to post about it btw, but i kind of felt the need to write something and twitter didn't feel right for that. at the very least, bluesky is usually where i like to express my feelings on things, even if it's just me talking into a void.

of course, i don't intend to make it sound like i know what i'm talking about or anything, or that i'm "taking a side." i've just been trying to rationalize everything, and it's been hard. at the end of the day, a family and community lost someone they loved, and that breaks my heart. rip hax :(

i do feel pretty conflicted about the whole situation given that he was technically banned (for valid reasons iirc), and the role of TOs is to enforce bans they feel are necessary for the community's safety. it's debatable whether he was truly still a threat, but it's very unfortunate regardless.

i'm not a member of the smash community (though i am an avid spectator), but hax's passing has really left me bummed. it's just such a sad, tragic situation all around, and i can only imagine how difficult the healing process is going to be for the community. it won't be easy to move on from.

i'm not sure if there's a worse feeling than having a week-long break when you intend to be productive, sunday hits, and you've done absolutely nothing that you planned to work on or complete. that's where i'm at currently. i'm really going to feel the effect of this over the next few weeks too LOL

as far as i'm concerned the entire purpose of the american experiment is to provide chuck schumer with a job that's not too challenging, yet rewarding and fun. and i hate to put it to you like this, but every criticism you post, and every phone call you make to his office, gets in the way of that

ah yes, the classic maine power outage during the winter months. i'm honestly surprised it took until march. well played, mother nature, keeping us on our toes like that. you win once again.

luckily this one seems to be due to the wind if anything. probably only a few hours without it... i hope...

none of this takes away from how insanely taxing all of this can be, but at the end of the day, we work for others because we care. we work for others because we have a vision that aims to bring out the best in ourselves and others, along with our aspirations that drive us and our community forward.

with all the negative elements and factors that tend to dominate our timelines, it could do us all some good to frequently reflect on the more positive things we take for granted—which could be a lot of things—to promote and hopefully cultivate a more positive environment overall.

i may be a broken record in saying this but i do believe that extensive efforts like yours (and others whom that is applicable to) do not go unnoticed. that said, of course, i feel we can, and absolutely should, do a better job of lifting one another up and positively recognizing the work we do.

there's legitimately no better feeling than finishing an amazing book that makes you rethink your approach to life or the way you look at things. as you turn that final page, you're satisfied as it is, but then you're also left to reflect and ponder endlessly, and i think that's a beautiful thing

posting here too — tonight, i completed omori. what a ride...

this game takes such a unique approach to gameplay and storytelling. like, every single moment felt meaningful, and that especially goes for the interactions between the characters. the small details throughout made it even better, too!!

had to borrow some books from my mentor teacher so i swung by the school i was student teaching at this morning and got to visit my honors students in the process.

it was so amazing to see them again. a lot of them were really happy to see me, too 🥹 there's legitimately no better feeling than that.

not to doom post, but this would legitimately be so terrible. i don't even want to begin thinking about the implications and how it could worsen conditions in schools across the country. kids don't deserve to have a subpar education simply because the ghouls in power are stupid and evil

i feel like most of the people this platform appeals to have made the switch already (or at least made accounts here). there are definitely some who simply haven't bothered or gotten around to it but it's very possible most others just do not care enough to switch. i'm unsure what could change that.

gave a pretty informal presentation today and it was during it that i casually remembered i was student teaching this past semester. not that i had forgotten; it just feels weird that it's behind me now. it's especially weird being a student again, though. i felt like i was teaching a lesson lol

what a day. and you're telling me it's only been one week of this? and we have to deal with this for close to four years? lol.
