17 weeks.

I think Liv has learned the word "no" so much that she's even " saying" it as heard here.

She continues to learn different kinds of meows and is becoming much more affectionate.

We're still getting used to each other. But she's catching on.

A different cat today because I'm dog sitting at my sisters' farm.

Meet Boris. This cat is just over a year old, and look how big it is.

Pretty shy around humans, but he did let me pet him a couple of times.

16 weeks.

Liv is more vocal and has several different meows now. One for contentment, one for curiosity and a third she exclusively uses at playtime.

And she's beginning to chase her tail now.

15 weeks.

Liv is extremely active now and very quick on her feet. She wants to keep moving.

A far cry from the wet kitty with the bad leg I found on the porch 10 weeks ago.

BTW, she is going to be a big cat. She's the size of some of the grown neighborhood cats.

- 3 1/2 Months-

Liv has found a happy place under my couch, near one of the air vents. Smart cat, with all this cold weather we've been having lately.

She has also learned to shake my hand.

Liv at 13 weeks looks and meows very much like a full grown cat. But she still has a lot of learning to do.

Liv, 3 months old.

She's more than doubled her size in 7 weeks and is getting better at listening when told "no".

I think she is going to end up being a big cat.

Today I found her on top of the dryer. That means the kitchen cabinets are next. Foil is ineffective with her; it's all the same to this kitty.

With that being said, the cat distribution system is something else, don't you think?

Liv at 3 months.

Likes: getting into the old radio cabinet in the dining room and playing Peek-a-boo; playing with her toys and on the cat tree; synchronized jumping with me.

Dislikes: Being told no, and that's pretty much it. (1/2)

Now almost 11 weeks old, and Liv just got her first shot. She handled it very well.

Reward: a blanket to lay on so she wouldn't lay on my dirty clothes any more.

Liv is 10 weeks old now.

Likes:

Hiding under chairs
Her mouse toys
Sitting on the air vents
Chasing balls of any kind
Food!!

Dislikes:

Being told no (though she's improving)
Certain kinds/brands of cat litter

I am convinced the cat distribution system exists; she showed up at the right time.

Totally relaxed right now, listening to 70s country music with a kitten pulling at the strings of my hoodie.

I'm good.

Sitting on the front porch in shorts and a T-shirt listening to St. Louis Blues hockey on a 69° night near the end of December.

Perfectly normal.

This one ended up on my porch 4 weeks ago at 12:45 am when I got back from a football game, possibly rejected by the mama cat from the next house over because of a bad leg. Porch camera didn't detect anyone dropping it off.

The leg is now healed and she's a very active 9-week-old that I call Liv.

So I'm at Dollar Tree to buy some Christmas socks for a themed brunch today and I noticed that they had already started putting their Easter items on display.

Not Valentine's Day.
Not St. Patrick's Day.

Easter.

That's a new extreme for me.

Arkansan here. Back in the 70s I loved watching what was then called AETN. Watched the usuals, and got introduced to soccer there because they broadcasted the Bundesliga match of the week. (Theme music was "Shame" so roughly 1977 for that.)

Needless to say, I will not be tuning in to Say-ruh TV.

A couple of the rooms are still off limits for now but I want her to be comfortable roaming.

She's now 6 weeks old with a ravenous appetite and very curious about shoestrings.

Same gray kitten a few days later. Its name is Liv.

Here's a kitten transformation.

Picture 1 after I found her on my front porch Sat morning. She was wet and eyes crusted shut. I got them open with a wet paper towel.

Picture 2 yesterday. In just a few days she looks lots better and has figured out the litter box.

This is a black and yellow domestic cat named B.G., which is short for Black Gold. The cat sits in a blue and white lawn chair.

They always say the cats find you.

It's as if they have a sixth sense when a human has lost "their" neighborhood cat, another comes in to fill the void.

Meet B.G., short for Black Gold. Very friendly.

No cat replaces Miss Zelda but good to still have one around.
