Weirdly, I never vibed with CotEoF. Itβs a great episode, but itβs not my personal jam, and I was recommending episodes I both know are good _and_ personally love.
Apart from Spockβs Brain. That was pure meme value.
Iβve been pretty quiet of late. Itβs almost like Iβm just not that big on using social media π Maybe Iβm just getting old
04.12.2025 10:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0For those interested in media preservation, we at Static Productions have made the original two Blonde Doctor short trips available in this playlist, premiering today at 12:45 and 1pm respectively. These remasters contain updated art and graphics, but are otherwise faithful to the original releases.

For the avoidance of doubt.
Nazis can go fuck themselves.
Lessons after a few more goes
1. Definitely have more than one sun
2. Rendering is a bitch, but worth it for smooth 60fps
3. Need to figure out how to add space
4. Thank fucking God for free models on Sketchlab (and yes, Iβve made a note of the original model artists).
Lessons learned so far.
1. There are a lot of really nice ship models out there.
2. I need to figure out how to make SPACE
3. Rendering takes forever. Expected that one.
4. Scaling up is helpful.
5. Always have more than one sun.
I am about to try my hand at Blender.
β¦ yeah, this is not going to go well π
Yeah, thatβs how I have my coffee too. I blame Janeway for my coffee habits. π

14.09.2025 19:37 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Glad Iβm not the only one who thought they fridged Batel in SNW
13.09.2025 14:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Fair enough.
10.09.2025 10:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Agreed there. I mean, Iβd happily accept - even if it makes no sense - if they just at the end of SNW had the TOS Enterprise show up, with a βshe got refitβ. Would it βreallyβ work? Nah. But itβs an explanation, and the SNW Enterprise is already different internally from the DSC Enterprise.
10.09.2025 10:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Okay. ππ

10.09.2025 08:17 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I should point out that Iβm not _angry_ about these discontinuities. I find them incredibly fascinating. Indeed, LDS has - by virtue of its including all these designs - turned it into a fun headcanon question. But a question it remains. 3/3
10.09.2025 08:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0(Generations is an aberration in this only because of production) But in SNW, we have these slight discontinuities that now show the Enterprise cycling between three variants in the space of four years. Even disregarding TOSβ visuals, SNW has changed something. 2/
10.09.2025 08:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thatβs true! And also within TNG, and Generations, and later DS9, and Lower Decks has canonised that beautifully with in-universe inferred explanations. But the difference is, except in Generations, there was some consistency about where those were worn. Cerritos has one uni. Titan has another 1/
10.09.2025 08:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0There are ridiculous logical endpoints of arguments about any sense-impaired individualβs enjoyment of a piece of media that could be considered. I donβt disregard the opinion of other fans. All I said was _for me_, visuals are canon; they matter to me. I donβt ask them to matter to anyone else 2/2
10.09.2025 07:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0On this point: my counterpoint to that is that television is a visual experience. Things are designed to be seen, and the design has meaning or intent. That might not be part of another fanβs world, but that doesnβt mean it doesnβt exist and shouldnβt be thought about at all. 1/
10.09.2025 07:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I mean, not as much because thereβs an explanation provided that allows for more suspension of disbelief than the current visual inconsistencies allow. I can accept and imagine that TMP comes after TOS. I canβt as readily imagine SNW _is_ TOS.
10.09.2025 07:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0I said βIβ consider visuals canon. For me, itβs a part of my viewing experience. For a visually impaired person, it might not be. I ascribe importance to visuals. Others do not, whether viewing impaired or otherwise.
10.09.2025 07:45 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Okay, so 1: Iβm a fan, not the guy in charge of writing the stuff or organising the production. The inconsistency exists, whether you ascribe importance to it or not. As to your second point: I think youβre reaching for something that isnβt present in my commentary.
10.09.2025 07:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0Slightly, but i find it kind of interesting that thereβs things like the SNW uniform showing up for pre-Cage characters, the SNW uniform and Klingons in place of the Disco stuff for the war flashbacksβ¦ YMMV on whether visual consistency is a canon thing but even current Trek isnβt great at it.
10.09.2025 07:07 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thatβs sort of a non-sequitur to the question (though for the record I agree). And the visual inconsistency extends to how SNW shows Disco and pre-Disco.
10.09.2025 06:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Depends if you consider visuals to be canon or not. I do. The modern Trek shows obviously screwed the visual pooch for how TOS looked, but Strange New Worlds hasnβt even been faithful to Discoβs visual language - loads of inconsistencies.
