Today is the 10th anniversary of my first book's release day.

While it was titled and marketed as a devotional, 365 Devotions was more a spiritual life-coach starter manual, or as I called it, "a mini-encyclopedia for intentional living."

Hope Tempered With Tears How Jesus joins us in our suffering

One of the best reminders Good Friday brings to mind is that Jesus joins us whenever we suffer.

I read that the newest owners of the franchise are already being sued for allegedly shady practices in their other business enterprises.

Wonderful episode. Again, right up my alley.

One of the reasons I've never been the best fit as a leader in church culture is the lack of enthusiasm for a recovery mindset, transparency, and vulnerability. There are exceptions to this, of course, but not many.

We're in for a cold week, but I got a warm cat on my lap, a crackling fireplace on the TV (YouTube), and a burning desire for peace and good will throughout the world.

So, settle a debate for me:

I saw David Lynch has passed. While I haven’t watched many of his darker films, his movie "The Straight Story" is among my all-time favorites. Slowness. Simplicity. Up-close humanity. The deeply endearing, Richard Farnsworth. I truly loved this film.

At the crux of your essay seems to be the issue of "Jesus and..."

I think one of the biggest surprises when we meet Jesus will be how limited our perspective was on the way the Christian "temple" -- apart from the foundation that has already been laid -- can be built.

It reminded me of how I framed the eulogy I recently delivered for my father, but didn't fully articulate as you did with Romans 8.

For believers, the pangs of death are really the pangs of birth. My dad knows that now better than me.
