Just got home from a couple of nights away. I'd sat down for less than a minute before Asbocat swarmed onto me. I think she's pleased to see us.

As a follow up to last night's air guitar to Dire Straits, my mother law is punching the air and semi headbanging to Bruce Springsteen. Oh my. But good for her.

My mother in law is giving a huge air guitar solo to Dire Straits whilst watching an old Top of the Pops and all I can say is it's quite something to behold.

Heard a dad in the supermarket telling his kid they'd go to Kew Gardens and then have fish fingers for dinner. What a day!

The vet did mention dental surgery at some point. That won't be cheap! Hoping insurance will cover it.

That's a lot of waiting and hold music. Hope your kid is OK.

Asbocat had a vet visit today as she was hobbling. Luckily, nothing serious. She's not impressed at not being allowed into the garden though.

This is hauntingly beautiful. Heavy with grief but threaded with hope.

And the gremlin came second by winning the judges' vote.

I'm out and about to see the gremlin compete in a poetry slam. It's being held in a metal record shop. This is not my usual Friday night.

The really tricky child who came to me twice afterwards to check all his answers had been within the scannable sections slightly melted my withered, cynical heart. Poor kids.

Last night I was left with about a single bunting flag's worth of duvet after Asbocat and my husband staked their claim. Good job it's warm weather.

My husband is telling my mum about a wine course he did yesterday. She's outraged that the booklet from it showing stages of wine making goes crush, ferment, mature, bottle but doesn't end with drink.

I don't know what was just flapping about on my roof, but from the sound of it, it was at least the size of a roc.

I might have bought about double the amount of prawns I needed for our noodles tonight. Can't bring myself to regret it though.

So relatable

I've eaten my break time snack already. Which means I'll eat lunch at break. So chips at lunch?

So much recently that makes me despair. It's all pretty horrible.

How I know it's chilly.
1. I've worn slippers all day.
2. I've just put my very warm but static ridden purple dressing gown of fleece on.
3. I couldn't tell which was the butter I'd left out all night for baking and which was the one I'd taken out of the fridge a bit earlier.
