Obvs theres the bigger problem of "the flags are beign used by racists to be racist" but its frustrating that they dont even pretend to follow the rules and traditions they're calling to uphold.

Honestly, i've said it before but the biggest thing for me is the disrespect the people daubing flags actually are having for them.
Painting a flag where there will be a car running over the flag? That feels pretty damn disrespectful. Raising them at loads of different heights? Disrespectful

I've just left a job where my legacy is (hopefully) a lovely spreadsheet that used to crash excel and now is beautiful <3

Incase you care, you shouldn't hang flags at different heights, there is a correct way to hang a St George's Cross and the most important thing is that you care for the flag - take it down in stormy weather and clean it after rain etc.

I appreciate that the bigger problem is the racism and xenophobia , but its pissing me off how all these St George crosses aren't being ironed and steamed before being put up and being hung wrong.

Like did none of the racists learn how to properly hang a flag?

Rolled credits on Revenge of the Savage Planet and honestly it was a really fun time. Nothing groundbreaking but the combat felt fluid, the story fun and the side quests impactful. Its rare to get a game that just feels nice to play. Challenging but not impossible!

that is true, but often it wont stop a *game* website in my experience. (and the adult control only works natively if set up that way - we've had kids blocked from buying food at food-stalls because they are using the same stripe thing as the bar, but the bar actually isn't blocked!)

I would assume as such - not *every* ally but a lot of really great allies would check beforehand if they should show up and hear a "i mean i guess" as a no.

this also may be *my specific experiences* but i've heard similar from other people.

and there are fantastic men who show up to events, sit quietly and do nothing. But tbh, most of them only show up when i explicitly invite them? When I tell them "please come to the event"

Like i would never attend a POC event or trans event without an explicit invitation - but I suspect the people who i turned away would absolutely show up to those events too? They'd attend "as an ally" but then talk over the people who they are allying with (i've also seen this happen)

i mean thats your words not mine? I've run a lot of mixed gender events where we dont have this issue but this is specifically men attending limited entry events - where they feel they are being denied entry becuase of being men.

I do wonder if its an element of the people who turn up? ...

(like the most rude person was mad at me booking out a bar, and they expressed their annoyance at no tickets avalible on the door and that it was unfair to people who weren't in the group, but she said she'd be back the moment the event ended, and then left. She wasn't there when the event ended)

Tickets also arrive. Their response to being refused for not having tickets for the specific event was "oh my bad, are there tickets on the door? No? Okay is it regularly this date and time? Fab ill get tickets next time I'll grab the link thanks!"
Even the most rude didn't need security and left

To put another example, a man went to a women's only bar that sometimes allows men in. I was hosting an event that day, and we had exclusive hire of the event. Rather than listening to what I was saying he shouted over me and we had to get security.
The same event we had many women without...

(like this isn't a call for women to be quiet fyi this was a specific woman who was talking over others and making others uncomfortable (like someone so physically loud) The feedback was given and she was allowed back and was better!)

Picking an example I've seen, a man got removed from an event and he kicked off as Bertine said.
His response suggested he was not actually an ally and had been aggressive towards people.
Wheras when we removed a similar overly loud woman, she asked if there was a way she could be quieter and remain

So for the kids I know
- helps them manage pocket money
- lots of stores are cashless so let's them buy things
- public transit starts charging at 11, and some are cashless.
-provides them with safety net E. G. Walking back from school they have a way to access money if needed

seems pretty decent however I do think you can have a debit card pre-16 in the UK.

Rainy rain

Highlights from a rainy Girlguide camp this weekend involved toasting marshmallows i the rain, tying knots to hang up tents and shelters, and camping in a tiny tent in the rain! (video of rain in thread)

I am both the femme and the butch. 21kg suitcase for a week away with 7 different heels.

I also did a lovely weekend camping which was me, two tshirts, two pants, and a 5kg camp bed.
