So most of the time what we have are not lies, but gibberish (or to use Biblical language) Babel. See Genesis 11. Babel produces chaos, which is what we currently have in the United States. The only thing that would stop it is a community of people who are committed to telling the truth.

When someone becomes a habitual liar, it is not so much that they tell lies, but that the lies tell them. We forget that to tell a lie is a moral achievement, for to tell a lie means that we first understand the truth, from which we are departing. (continued in comments).

Because I am a follower of Jesus, I understand the public health to be a sacred trust. Today our nation (by a very narrow vote) has treated this carelessly, opting for conspiracy theories rather than science. All of which boggles the mind. Stay safe out there.
