Kismet assures me over and over in my head she's not a girl yet. She is. Obviously. But her standards are unreasonable and as I writer I am capable of giving her better.

Soleil... isn't just a girl. She's just so much... more.

If Soleil/Ayre embraces being a monster and having a scary headmate/transformation...

Kismet/Snapdragon are the surprisingly well put together early transition girls about to sneak out the back door before people who show up in their lives capable and willing to help with the whole trans thing.

Those two were just named Soleil and Kismet.

Been wanting to have another run at them for... well, since Weight of Broken Promises caused me to burn out writing really hard and loudly.

Soleil was the realization that I struggled writing untraumatized characters. 👉👈

THEN I wrote Depths.

To complicate everything, I stared at a much ealier post for a whiiiile before erasing 5 lovers and writing 3 girls.

Eula absolutely has a pair of characters with whom everything works out with & who are present from chapter 1.

They're just a pair of traveling cuties that get wiggly about gender.

To put it very simply.

This is a world where everyone is defined by what they carry in their packs.

Eula very quickly dreams of having her own wagon.

And then a caravan.

She is alone in this, but almost everyone she meets will chip in and help make that dream a reality.

I want to write Eula as someone who is smitten with the stories that this world celebrates and carves into stone.

Only while some embrace very specific facets/stories, Eula embraces them all to the extent that demand she follow them to their sources and see just how many those stories have touched.

But hard circumstances fall on everyone and Eula is there to catch girls who are even just briefly in need.

It's just... if you can't see that everyone's struggles are widespread thing with a constant and shared source acting against the community, Eula can only carry you so far by herself.

Each girl will probably represent an interest in the community I set up as conflicted with one another but Eula is the no nonsense rogue that this society doesn't serve so she works for everyone who slips into the cracks. These 3 girls are not the beginning or end of her concerns.

I want to write someone who, from the outset, works to the betterment of everyone else who gets swept up in her life.

The initial love interests cannot see the forest for the trees and are left to grapple with an entire village that pushes Eula to not settle for less and to travel far from here.

I've written Ayre while putting up with some monumental bullshit in my life.

I just want to write someone who is willing to be messy but still has some damn self respect to know she's worth more than what she's getting.

Woke up 5 hours later as gay as when I started this thread.

I just want to write a story where Eula entangles herself with 3 different girls and she doesn't manage to make it work out.

Those girls not being willing to share her is a dealbreaker so she leaves every single one of them behind.

To put it another way, Eula's story only exists because I don't have anyone to play the gay airplane game with but myself and my headmates.

I have seriously considered running Flying Circus exclusively for my own enjoyment.

I've taken the gay festival story and turned it into a world concerned with traveling to hear all about stories of gay polycules who've inspired everyone to connect with one another in ways beyond what is needed to survive my magical depression storms.

Finally found myself paving over half hearted ideas without discarding any of them.

Just line by line, seeing what I was going for and shaking my head before writing what I need out of it to work.

I'm back on the Eula story. Of all things. Smallest word count. Easily the best written.

I'm so glad that Nevarii gave me 70 hours of audiobook to listen to.

Today probably would've been miserable without it. But now? I've got stuff that has me finding all sorts of extra little emotions and word play to tease out of my writing.

Literally 100% of my writing lately has been confined to the Castellan's castle.

I uh... I put an Ayre in it.

I'm not sure if what I'm writing is ever gonna see the light of day but is fun.

I am just chasing some explorations of ideas and leaving myself largely to whims. Very much a, I said I would never do this, but am exploring angles that might make it worthwhile.

2,473 words. Okay. Today was apparently a good writing day too.

Not me spilling 12 paragraphs of ink on why I'd put the Inquisitors, Hell Knights, Angels, and even the Queen of Mendev to the sword in Wrath of the Righteous over purely Chapter 1 and 2 events.

I don't even know the full extent of what happens in 3, 4, or 5.
