Republicans’ actions do NOT excuse the Democratic Party of its own crimes against immigrants. But Republicans pose an immediate, dire threat toward immigrants and the population as a whole.

Combined with the administration’s plan to build a unified database of every American’s data, these attempts are yet another step toward fascism. Republicans are primarily targeting immigrants right now, but they’ll come for us all in the end.

These issues are interconnected. Cracking down on anti-ICE protests is part of a broader strategy to suppress resistance to this administration. Additionally, tightening immigration enforcement is a way to justify increased surveillance of the entire population.

This bill would prevent the government from punishing officials for denying benefits or services on the basis of religious or moral beliefs. These extremists are again using religion as the basis for discriminating against other people.

While the U.S. government suppresses anti-ICE protests, remember that this administration is dismantling ALL our liberties. In the proposed DHS budget, Republicans plan to give government officials the authority to deny benefits and services based on their moral or religious beliefs about marriage.
