I love how the Dabi & Hawks personas are the opposite of their real personalities. Dabi is quiet and broody, while Touya is loud and proud and just wants to be seen. Hawk is loud and cocky, while Keigo is quiet and observant. The few times we see their masks break is when they're together. I love it

I also find their characters to be incredibly relateable. The Todoroki family has one of the more realistic portrayals of toxic families I've ever seen. And I love the way Hawks' backstory ties into it all.

They are near perfect character foils. In many ways, they are the only ones I see being able to understand each other, despite being on opposite sides of the war. They spend nearly 6 months alone, meeting up in warehouses trading intel and then another 3 months (?) at the PLF. It's suspicious *wink*

For me, it's:
* identity shenanigans
* parallel backstories
* enemies who have reason to interact alone
* frequently headcanoned as established enemies with benefits
* a dramatic reveal
* endless story opportunities because of quirks and because canon gives us so little
* my favorite brand of angst
