Nothing really. Thats the crazy thing. He posted this and people freaked out about him becoming woke and weaponizing Scripture to promote illegal immigration. He provided a bad commentary on the verse making it mostly spiritual but they still freaked out over the use of the word Stranger.

The freak outs about #JohnPiper show a reality we already knew. That for many, seeing Scripture use the word Stranger, Foreigner, Oppressed, Poor, imprisoned, or hungry, will immediately initiate a response. Because they cant comprehend how God would care about those they do not.

Unity at the expense of the dignity of others is not Unity. It’s just ignoring the pain we are causing, and lying to ourselves about the growth we are trying to show…

I still cannot understand how so many Western Christians, promote a Jesus that is so bloodthirsty and violent, and not see what that does to their own minds and hearts. You wonder why there is such rampant abuse from Christians…. It’s starts with their Christology.

And before people start claiming this is a political statement… this isn’t. I don’t care if you think the SAVE act is good or bad. But don’t be assuming that if someone can’t produce a certain number of documents or even afford those documents, that they don’t deserve a voice
