I'm not gonna read all of what you wrote, but my family are not tech savvy enough for what you describe. My dad got immediately scammed and locked out of all his accounts once he got a smartphone and downgraded. I don't have the mental and emotional capacity to talk to people on the phone often.

And I'm just complaining about my partner being served AI content in his reels. I don't actually watch reels and just use it as a journal to update my friends and family about my life.

They're old. Some are worse at texting than they are at using a big keyboard and all they understand is facebook.

It was a lot easier to tell a year ago too. Now your brain has to be turned all the way on to tell, but in this case they disclosed it but I don't think it's easy to see that on a phone when the reel autoplays.

I assume it's harder to see on a phone than on desktop when just watching reels.

Quite a few of my friends and family only use facebook so it's still a necessity for me if I want to hear from them at all.

I miss when there were so many cool websites with edutainment games for free. Going to a computer lab in the early 2000s was amazing.

Age of Monsters: Atomic: Kaiju parasites dossier. At the top there are jars with various scale louse that live on kaiju hide and/or the deep ocean. They are all isopods of the same genus. Below to the left is the Springer, a jumping amphipod that lives on the kaiju Ziz. To the right is the Blood Worm which is a giant bloated bristle worm annelid that inhabits kaiju digestive tract and sewers with its young below and mouthparts extended.

I do wish we had more people to help us eat it all, I always cook way too much. We'll have leftovers for a week.

Yeast rolls I baked after I graduated college in 2012 and started trying to learn how to cook.

Herb butter yeast rolls that I cooked today. They rose for too long and kind of deflated by the time the turkey was finally done and I could bake them. Good browning on the top and they were actually done in the middle. Tried out a recipe that called for avocado oil, which was a new one for me.

It's taken me 13 years to get yeast rolls almost right.

Our dinner table last year on top and this year on bottom showing various Thanksgiving dishes. Last year I cooked myself a salmon as my main and this year I did a tofurky roast. The turkey was bigger and I didn't let the herbs get as burned this year. I tried out premade nut and cookie crusts for the pies this time but I still used roasted black futsu pumpkins to make my own puree.

I'm not sure which was better between last year's and this year's feast. All I know is that I'm tired.

They should be worried about both things haha.

Yeah they ought to not be doing that. Chickens like to peck eyes.

At a certain point the chickens become more of a threat to the cat than the inverse, for most cats at least. I don't think most housecats are motivated enough to attack a fully grown chicken but if they have a high enough prey drive and are an outdoor cat I have heard of it happening.

I free range my birds most of the time but they do have a run I can close them into with bird netting over the top and the bottom of the fence has concrete blocks partially buried so animals can't easily push under the fencing.

The chicks were being needy so I brought them in the house so I could check on them more often, and Zuko appreciated the warmth of the heat lamp.

Well my boy cats are really good about leaving a brooder alone, but the main thing is to keep it in a room that the mammals can't get into unless you're there to supervise. Then cats aren't a concern once the chickens are big, but depending on the dog they might always need a solidly fenced run.

Most of the time adult hens would like to eat chicks if they were given the chance lol

But generally if you have a broody hen and can sneak some very very young chicks under her - day old or younger - you might have success but you'd have to watch closely for rejection. Usually I have to keep chicks separate till they're half grown or larger before they get integrated into the flock.
