Apart from being an artist, I think books like Wacky Wednesday helped teach me to one day be able to spot generative AI inconsistencies in images. Yay pattern recognition.

I think they kinda lumped any archosauromorph that isn't an avemetatarsalian into the 'ancient reptile' label.

Episode 3 of The Dinosaurs watched. I've gotta say that it's still incredibly fun and surprising in some spots. My partner was yelling out during the bird versus pterosaur scene asking if that really happened lol. Love how clear they're making it that birds are dinosaurs too.

Oh that was 100% what originally got me into dinosaurs in the elementary school library. That and Zoobooks.

Oh that is a good one. I definitely had a lull in my own dinosaur enthusiasm when I stopped keeping up with stuff in my early 20s before embracing it again. The short answer, for me, was to get obsessed with a dinosaur video game and go from there but I'll talk more about it lol

YouTube community poll reading "So I'm less than 100 subscribers away from 5k on here. I'm considering redesigning my Dilophosaurus icon in a somewhat longer process video with some narration. Would it make sense to have that as more of a tutorial or would you all be interested in me answering frequently asked questions? Go ahead and ask me some questions here either way!" with results out of 59 votes being 97% in favor of answering questions in the video and not strictly having it be a tutorial.

Okay the poll on YouTube is pretty clear, the people over there would prefer if I answered frequently asked questions in my 5K subscriber video as well. What are some things you all would want to have me answer in a video? Can be art related or not.

I think they just smoothed out the lipline from the outside for Dilophosaurus, but I'd have to really go back and watch and see what's going on with the teeth. Some lizards do have very even lips considering their extreme teeth sometimes.

Also I'm coming around to the extensive pseudocheeks they're giving the ornithischians in this, makes sense and is adorable on Heterodontosaurus so why not just continue that down the evolutionary line. I'm just so happy to see feathers and neutral wrists with fun storytelling.

One odd thing (which is fine for general audiences) is referring to croc-line archosaurs just as 'reptiles' while implying dinosaurs are not reptiles. Those pseudosuchians are just as much of reptiles as dinosaurs, but I get where that'd be confusing to point out narratively.

Alright 2nd episode of The Dinosaurs watched. Still very fun and having a great time. They're showing really cool behaviors and speculative features, love the emphasis on dinosaur evolution including feathers. There's some nitpicks I have, but they're easy to overlook.

Watched the first episode of The Dinosaurs and had a really great time. I cheered out loud for Marasuchus. I love Marasuchus for some reason.

I had a vivid dream last night that I was at a large family reunion Christmas dinner, and it was a big deal that a stegosaur toy of mine was named Frankie. Everyone wanted to know if I named it after myself: Frank. E. I assume it's some kind of dream allusion to Frankenstein but who knows, not me.

Deimosaur, Pantherosaur, Pseudodrakon, and The Aten Beast concept sketches facing left. They are 3 large theropods and a pterosaur. The partially feathered Deimosaur has a large eyespot marking on its snout and elongated proportions. The Pantherosaur has big cat spots and very long hand claws. The Pseudodrakon stands tall with coloration similar to a hornbill. The Aten Beast is a large carcharodontosaurid with a tall nasal crest and markings reminiscent of magma cracking through cooled lava.

No I haven't seen him in a really long time, not sure if he's still in the neighborhood since I also haven't heard his cries in about that long either.

Message from me to my partner on Saturday with unrelated thoughts of telling him about my hair cut and then sending a photo of the caiman lizard. He makes the obvious joke saying it's a weird hair cut, to which I correct him that it's called style and he apologizes.
