Went to bed before SOTU, not that I wanted to hear that man speak anyway.

Woke up and somehow didn't get a single political text overnight

The St. Croix river doesn't end at Hastings, it ends at Prescott!

I keep mentioning that a huge contingent of Team USA is Minnesotan.

Not an American Airlines ad when watching a YouTube animation of TWA Flight 800...

Now I'm picturing your husband somehow totally messing up the entire PB jar when he gets to it first

Since that side is nothing but projection, I assume that their paid protester accusations are really just confessions that they themselves pay protesters.

With the evergreen caveat of “not all customers” etc

I noticed an already pretty hot “content creator” start posting AI slop of himself. It’s like 98% the same but now his skin looks impossibly perfect. It’s some uncanny valley shit. Like just be real please

At first glance the bottom left looks like a hot dog

Every time this gay bar hosts its monthly country music night, the customers are always extremely feral (and not in the fun sexy sense of the term). It’s guaranteed full moon energy no matter what. I hate mess and I hate the music. Can’t win on nights like this.

Sweet. I already have numerous possible 40th birthday (or around that time) vacations floating around in my head but if there’s a good cruise around that time I will strongly consider it.

Do you know how far in advance they post the schedules? Like I might be interested in something next spring close to my 40th

Important contextual note about Team USA at this Winter Olympics: Minnesota has more athletes on the team than almost every other state (except Colorado).

Also, Whipple isn’t in city limits anyway.

Because the Twin Cities are all about representation

Or to make a true apples-to-apples comparison, the GOP nominee for this actual house seat got 18% in 2024 compared to 4% tonight, a 14-point swing (aka, the previous house nominee outperformed Trump)

This does not appear to be true. The GOP didn't field a candidate at all in 47A, hence it is just the DFLer vs write-ins; there is no MAGA candidate there. In 64A, the GOP candidate is beating write-ins.

This was 83/17 last time around (2024), for context.

The Greater LA metro urbanized area is actually denser than the Greater NYC equivalent.

So there are two state house special elections in MN today. However the suburban one is actually unopposed (went 61/39 D last time) and that would have been the most interesting outcome to see. The urban one is being contested but went 83/17 D last time. I am expecting Assad margins this time.

Probably around the same. That's when it really clicked over from just general incompetence to me. I mean I still thought most of the first term was an attempt at it but the stars weren't lined up right (too many cabinet appointees actually held principles to give one example).

Beatles did this with "Taxman." Other acts back then became tax exiles in France or whatever. All because how dare they contribute to the UK's recovery from WW2 now that they are rich as fuck.

My favorite subgenre is when an act gets their big break and immediately starts writing songs bitching about taxes.
