It may not be true anymore, but I think pianos have a special type of invisibility where they were so common that they weren’t noticed. A violin is a room is a statement. The piano, the piano stool and the assorted of battered sheet music is just how things are, and maybe always have been.

I learnt at school with a very strong music department. Play in bands and orchestras. Gave up in my late teens. Took it up again decades later and play in orchestras / bands / chamber ensembles on a regular basis and still getting better. A great thing to do.

I need some help from a proficient Cornish language speaker please! I paint landscapes & when my work is based on my homeland I always use the Cornish language as titles. The trouble is I don't speak it. Literal translations from English don't always work poetically so a little conversation 1/2

In my experience ‘competition’ in some industries is often more about not losing rather than winning. Especially true of individual executive motivations at senior / senior-mid level. So adopting similar strategies / advisers can make sense.

The act of creation can also be thought of as an act of destruction as work on a piece removes possibilities at every step until only one out of the myriad options remains. (c.f. state spaces in physics) There are no more choices available

The article doesn’t understand the difference between power and energy. (“…40 watts of energy”) - so I wouldn’t really trust it on anything else.

It was fantastic to work with Doug and Greenpeace colleagues on this. For my money, this is the most immediate step the Government could take to reduce costs on bills.
