And as someone who closely monitors both websites I can assure you that X is a right wing radicalization pipeline, including for people who consider themselves smart and progressive, while Bluesky is just an overwhelming left leaning platform. Those are very different things.

If a bunch of people who agree who hang out together is an echo chamber then sure, we’re all in echo chambers all the time. But what’s actually bad is a platform that the world’s richest man has weaponized to make people including “elites” who still use it bigoted and hateful and conservative

I’m so tired of seeing people bash Bluesky for being an echo chamber when X is an actual intentionally constructed echo chamber that is demonstrably radicalizing people across the political spectrum who still use it

In addition to this, all of the "omg look at the lib echo chamber that is Bluesky!" stuff that people on Twitter say actually better describes Threads, tbh.

Every aspect of anti-trans rhetoric is priming them to accept other conspiracy theories and distrust people's own experiences, primary sources, experts, and to treat anyone not speaking from a position of hostility of being compromised, only gut prejudice and bigotry are truth to them.

They unravel because to take up the anti-trans position is to believe in a conspiracy theory where trans people secretly control all mechanisms of power in the world, have captured every institution and gotten to every friend and family member they ever had who doesn't mirror their bigotry.

At the meeting, I talk about Good Boss/Bad Boss/Sad Boss as the kind of menu of tactics the company will draw from. I said some version of a thing I have now said thousands of times in meetings and house calls: Good Boss is when they buy off or try to buy off workers, with favors and fixes or even pay raises, to quell the anger that drives the organizing, to make it seem as though workers don't need a union after all. Bad Boss is when they terrify or try to terrify workers through threats, like plant closure and rumors like "Wherever the union goes, Immigration follows," so that fear overpowers the driving anger. Sad Boss is when they play the strange game of pretending to suffer a deep, personal heartbreak as the result of workers deciding to organize, in hopes that the workers' anger will be confused or blunted by empathy for the boss.

Genuinely the best description I've ever seen about how CEOs and bosses respond when you try to form a union or improve the workplace.

Although the monumental blunder with the mandatory PSN Account linking and pulling games from sale in what was it, over 130 countries? That was quite an extreme self inflicted wound that did a lot of reputational damage with PC users, even if they did eventually walk it back.

This is extremely disappointing because as far as AAA games go I really do love Playstation titles, they are a cut above, and I was seriously looking forward to both Yotei and Saros and didn't mind the couple of years delay releasing on PC. I hope they'll reverse course on this eventually.
