I was on a plane last night and i heard several different folks talking about the Kirk shooting. They all seemed so angry - that I decided to keep my mouth shut, but normally I'd respond about his hate speech that once was considered too crass to be accepted by so many.

Purely theoretical: if you felt the US were a failed experiment - that it's beyond repair - would you:

1.) keep it to yourself, period;
2.) speak of it only to a trusted private few;
3.) speak freely and publicly of it?
