#OTD 1912: Titanic sank. The next day, newspapers reported NO LIVES LOST. How did this happen?

During wireless chatter, someone asked: "Are the Titanic passengers safe?” The answer came: "The ship is being towed to Halifax and everyone is ok." That 2nd transmission didnt refer to the Titanic.
