Up to you if you want to go with the authentic latin. Absolutely nothing wrong with aligning it with real life terms. But a twist on the name is just as valid. Cool name either way

Thank you! The early part of the series doesnโ€™t touch on that too much. But, Beatriceโ€™s gun is made partly of Osiris Steel. Which repairs itself. (Very closely guarded by Osiris himself).

Idk if โ€œoneโ€™s trash is anotherโ€™s treasureโ€ has ever rang so true. Very curious about Fulgorโ€™s Lighting (which will likely pop up down the line).

(Demons living among humans) can get an extra paycheck for the ethical harvesting of materials.

products, whether that be for civilian or Hunter market. These mostly come from demon beasts (like our animals, but way weirder). Although there are some intelligent demons that yield raw materials for products. These are mostly excretions from glads or otherwise regrowing body parts. So daimon 4/5

In their raw, unshaped form, they are very rough, with many small irregularities that make fitting them inside a gun chassis difficult (and dangerous).

As for other things I mentioned in past posts, some of the raw products are demon bits. Organs, bones, eggs where applicableโ€ฆ they all may yield3/5

Having it in one of the demon world islands (like the crystals that can become computer components) made the most sense. With them being native to the human realm equally making sense.

I am still struggling as to which world makes the most sense. But either way, the crystals grow under mountains2/5

For the energy conversion crystals I mentioned yesterday, I have gone through several potential ideas. For a while, they were a โ€œSage Materialโ€. (Something that was formed in the immediate area of someone essentially becoming a minor deity). But that would make it a finite resource.1/5

And the WWI thing really only applies to how the projectiles appear once they leave the barrel. They are fairly accurate (individual skill notwithstanding).

In addition to not reloading, one can increase (or decrease) the damage done.

So basically, common citizens (even many non-humans) use gunpowder while Hunters use the energy conversion ones. (Some overlap happens for magical persons who choose not to become Hunters, opting for civilian police roles

03.03.2026 22:57 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Gunpowder weapons never stopped being developed and evolved as well. (Since people with magic are the only ones that can fire a โ€œHunter weaponโ€, the common person needs a weapon to defend themselves with).

Hunters (the ones that choose to use guns) are generally safer and more effective with them.

(I say that about myself way to often lmao, I understood everything well enough).

I am hoping with the number of places that stop switching increases, there will eventually be a โ€œdomino effectโ€.

Are Roy, putting too much strain on low grade precision training guns. He broke at least 2 dozen at one point).

These came about as replacements for gunpowder guns. No reloading is a major plus for Hunters.

The main drawback being, there comes a point where the guns lock up and need to โ€œcool-

Energy being poured into it. Typically (by the time the main story happens) these do not usually break or need to be replaced very often. (For most Hunters anyway. Anything can happen in the higher ranks).

(Between special alloys and failsafes, Hunter weapons are not usually broken. Unless you-

The crystals themselves are less of a power source and more of a โ€œconverterโ€ of oneโ€™s energies. The initial tuning โ€œtrainsโ€ the crystal to absorb-

Ive always imagined the projectiles themselves resembling tracer bullets from WWI (when they fly through the air anyway). Though this does vary a bit based on the individual and if a special technique is being used.

For example, Luis โ€œSentryโ€ Valitory, one of my side characters, can fire a-

Into weapons. They must be both shaped and tuned. This is usually done by trained gunsmiths, although others can learn and be a part of the process.

One character (so far) in the story made her weapon from scratch. Including the shaping and tuning of the crystal. Typically it takes several 3/4

(These are a completely separate crystal from the ones used for computers).

For this #Marchistics post, I should probably focus on something a little more specific. (What whiplash from my previous post!). Probably shouldโ€™ve been more specific to start with lol

Hunters in #HeirsofAlighieri do not use normal firearms. Instead they use ones that fire their own energy 1/4
