James Carville will either end up in Gitmo or receive the Congressional Medal of Honor from Trump for the most stupid, ass-backwards, political advice given to Democrats since Hilary Clinton thought voting for the Iraq war would make her look tough.

If I were Panama, I'd quietly begin mining the entire length of the canal so that if some idiot tried to invade my country and seize it illegally, I could blow it up so that no one could use it for years.

When Ronald Reagan was inaugurated, the pundits all predicted the end of the Democrats. Hunter Thompson predicted the Democrats would win 6 additional Senate seats. Who was right?
Things may look bleak now, but the country is in much more unstable economic waters than when Reagan became President.

I saw "A Complete Unknown" for the second time yesterday. It was even better than the first time.

The Supreme Court refused to grant Trump a sentencing stay. Tell me this is not some MAGA trick. Throw the book at him!

Funniest recollection from that book: Secret Service waylaying Thompson to join Nixon in the limo to talk about football. Even Nixon knew Thompson was the sharpest sportswriter in the world (and the funniest).

In the New York Review of Books, CLR James says Melville’s Moby-Dick is what you can call really essentially American. What is it that is essentially American? The attitude to authority of the main character in Dog Day Afternoon. The instinctive readiness to go for what you’re after in America.

I just watched "Joker" last night.
The parallels with the reaction to the United Health Care assassination are disturbing.
