Imported everything from twitter here successfully I think, I had to manually repost the threads though. Glad the ‘skulltownjelly’ name wasn’t taken here

Optional: Add UV resin to a 5mm circular metallic sticker with a toothpick to create a lens. My sticker sheet didn’t have the right size, so I cut one out of the extra space

- Fill holes in elbow joint
- Remove the seam on the large inner part (the elbow joint frame is cemented in place for stability)
- (Optional) combine the rectangle parts
- Prime and paint

The back piece fits with friction after painting for me, but it may need to be glued

- Cut circles off of the elbow joint frame
- Cut off rectangle accent parts
- widen the seam line between the outer armor pieces into a panel line (.4mm)

WIP pictures and notes:
- FloatShoes
- scythe handle is a carbon fiber rod to avoid paint damage
- I extended the ankles and neck by a few mm
- the horns and hand guards were duplicated with UV resin and Oyumaru
- the chains are 30MM option parts and bent brass rods

Arm construction:

The shoulder joints are modified Cannon elbow joints, and the pair of hand guards attach with magnets to magnetic stainless steel strips on the hands

Sculpting the mist hair from scratch seemed intimidating, so I used gashapon fire effect parts. I sawed them apart and used putty to stick the pieces back together and fill in gaps.

Since this Cross is a Cursor-type, I made an extra face part with eyes that follow you. I carved out the eye stickers, drew new eyes digitally, printed them out at CVS, and made doll eyes by glueing lens parts over them (Wave H-Eyes 1 6mm).

I originally planned to try scratchbuilding this, but decided to try learning 3D modeling basics and save some time (it actually added time).

I painted mostly with Mr Hobby Aqueous and Acrysion paints. The colors aren’t perfect art matches, but I like some of them more than the plastic colors. Here are the mixes if anyone wants them:

ElbowMAX: Official art with bent elbows gave me a complex, so I hand-painted the elbow joints to match the upper arms. I modified the stock buster joint with putty and a rod, which required sawing the buster in half. I missed a mistake until now :/

Went to a competition (SCGMC) for the first time last weekend, I actually wanted to enter this kit last year but couldn’t finish it in time. I put zero thought into transporting it, but luckily I made it there and back without damaging it. Lots of impressive kits and dioramas

May chaos take the world

Painting and topcoating almost complete, but the navi symbols decided to crack during final assembly. Repairing and repainting those parts

Float Shoes + experimenting with weighing the feet down since the kit is top-heavy
