As an anthropologist I work specifically from the pov of comparative contexts, especially historically. IDK but it seems more like this should not be a point of contention, but one of social comparison. We seek to understand each other by means of social comparison, which is imo the goal here?

From my understanding of what's going on (pls correct me if I'm wrong), what he is trying to draw attention to is a comparative context between historical persecution and physical/cultural genocide in Poland and that black/POC USians are not the only people who have suffered colonialism.

He is not American, so that means hmmm probably not, for obvious reasons.

What is it specifically that needs explaining re: blackness? Sorry, new to Bluesky and not clued in on how it works.

Furthermore, any academic, including PhDs and postdoctorals, who claim "expert opinions" are up themselves in an academic ivory tower and should always be referred to with a grain of salt in mind. My ethnic lineage has nothing to do with my personal field of study.

I hold a Masters degree with Distinction in political anthropology, including the study of the marginalisation of black and non-black POC in America (British educated but taught by various American lecturers of mixed races). I am by no means am expert in anything, but I can assist as needed.

Am I supposed to be? No, I'm Peranakan Chinese. POC is a broad term that encompasses non-white social groups.
